LOCAL MASONIC LODGE REACHING OUT TO THE COMMUNITY:
Rising Sun Masonic Lodge #46, Free and Accepted Masons, Prince Hall Affiliation of Severna Park, Maryland, seeks
the assistance of the local community in order to continue aiding one of the community’s senior citizens. Rising Sun
Lodge is a non profit fraternity of men who practice faith, hope, and charity in the community. They were informed
that a member of the Freetown Community was in dire need of some assistance in restoring her home. Ms. Anna Bessick
is in her 80’s, has low income, poor health, yet her faith in God is still very evident. The members of Rising Sun Lodge
responded promptly to her needs, making her home the focus of their Community Outreach Project. Local businesses
within the community have already made financial contributions that have helped reduce the cost to replace and/or
repair the roof and windows. However, the doors, drywall, painting, and siding remain to be replaced and/or repaired as
well as other renovations. The Lodge acknowledges the following business for their generosity:
* Mr. Dave Thedans, Branch Manager of The New Roof Center, Inc., donated and delivered shingles to Ms. Bessick's house.
* Mr. Garrison Johnson, President of Garrison's Contractors, removed the old shingles, repaired the roof and installed new shingles at a reduced price.
* Mr. Dennis Boldger, President of Walnut Grove, LLC (local developer in Freetown), donated money towards the labor cost
involved with the roof. Also, he has committed to putting siding on the house, in the near future.
* Mr. Jeremy McKee, Sales Manager of Clear Choice Windows, has helped by replacing all of her windows at a very modest price.
* The Freetown Community Improvement Association, donated the money to cover the cost of replacing all of Ms. Bessick's windows.
* Mr. Thomas Hennessey, Esq. of Will Simmons Law Office, is providing legal services on her behalf.
As one can see, the local business community has been very generous and Rising Sun is extremely thankful. They will continue
to seek help in restoring Ms. Bessick's house to a satisfactory condition. Again, they thank all and welcome any future
assistance for this project.
